I served as a first point of contact for thousands of customers under Atos’ Multi-Client desk, and was responsible for assisting and resolving complex technical queries, in relation to hardware and software within the Rail Retail industry. Due to my consistently strong performance I was soon tasked with the increased responsibility of joining the team responsible for the support of one of Atos’ most important multi-million pound contracts: The Welsh Government. Originally joining Calyx Managed Services as a work placement during my apprenticeship, I was able to quickly secure a permanent position thanks to my hard work and dedication. This saw me join a team consisting of 1st Line, 2nd Line and 3rd Line analysts who were responsible for dealing with a wide range of customers on a daily basis, ranging from small legal clients to large architectural firms, and performing administrative tasks to ensure that my client’s network and IT infrastructure remains efficient and intact. Whilst working at Calyx I also developed my knowledge of the ITIL procedures and several ISO standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 20000 and ISO 27000. We operated on a ticket logging system that allowed us to take ownership of certain calls that we are dealing with, in order to efficiently provide the personalised level of support that our customer’s had come to expect. My position at Calyx allowed me to exercise my technical knowledge and problem solving skills to provide clients with resolutions, and quite often First-Time-Fixes to the various problems that they encounter. Several of my duties whilst at Calyx included: configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining all Nortel VOIP telecom systems as well all IT equipment across both Europe and Asia. In addition to hardware support, I was also responsible for remote rebuilds using SCCM, installing both standard and pre-packaged applications, and troubleshooting - via several remote management tools - any issues my clients encounter whilst using the various bespoke architectural software required for their job.
