Coordinate PHP's work and partnering related to corporate and public policies that produce injustices and inequity; administer the PHP grants program for these areas plus environment, worker justice, fair wages, food sovereignty, and hunger education and lifestyle integrity; help resource the PHP Advisory Committee; help educate U.S. constituencies about the root causes of hunger and poverty and provide campaigns and other ways for people who believe another world is possible to be engaged.

I believe that Heifer could use its vast experience in the field working with small-scale farmers and livestock producers to influence national and international policies, especially agricultural and trade polices created in the U.S. that negatively impact the livelihoods of rural communities in all the continents where Heifer works. There is too much focus on scaling up rather than scaling out, which is the most effective way of spreading agroecology and moving towards food sovereignty. I no longer could serve on the board with integrity and resigned in 2016.
