Andrew qualified as a solicitor in Scotland, England & Wales 15 years ago. After working in private practice commercial litigation, Andrew has for many years worked and volunteered with a range of charities tackling poverty, inequality, and injustice. Andrew has a long-standing, passionate commitment to human rights and social justice, with wide experience in the pro bono, prisoner rights, development, environmental, and sustainability sectors, with a particular focus on providing free legal advice and support in the UK and worldwide. Andrew joined Disability Law Service as CEO in October 2024, after two years as Co-Director at an environmental charity, and nine years as COO at Advocates for International Development (A4ID). The important work of DLS reflects Andrew’s own long standing, passionate commitment to providing free advice, support, representation, and access to justice for disadvantaged and Disabled people. Andrew’s own lived experience of unseen disability also fuels his passion for the work of DLS, having navigated the challenges of ADHD since childhood.
