Product was designed to be as easy to use as a consumer website but with the power of an enterprise software platform.Performed all product management, project management, marketing and sales functions to create the web app and enterprise SaaS products. Gained over 30,000 reviews of 3,500 companies in the manufacturing sector. DFine Acquired (Merit Medical)Led cross-functional teams as product manager and R&D representative to develop new innovative technologies including the StabiliT Vertebral Augmentation System and STAR Tumor Ablation System. The StabiliT System has been used to treat over 100,000's patients and the STAR System has been featured in numerous news articles as a revolutionary technology for the treatment of cancer in the spine. Investigated ideas, technologies and products for development, potential licensing or acquisition by accessing feasibility, regulatory pathway and barriers for entry of potential competition. Performed due diligence and strategic analysis for competitive products from Medtronic (Kyphon), Depuy, Arthrocare and Stryker. Data was used to determine DFine product positioning for use in promotional literature, podium presentations and VC funding presentation.Created yearly departmental and project budgets using project priority plan, available resources and estimating project costs. Managed cross functional teams to complete projects on time and within the created budget. R&D department was within 5% of budget the past three years and under budget two of the years.Built and led a finely tuned Research and Development department of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative environment that improved productivity and individual accountability by selective hiring, modifying job responsibilities and creating departmental goals. High output six person team has successfully developed five new products and line extensions in a year.

Managed the materials development group of DFine. Led multi-discipline team which took the product from proof of concept to market release in under 5 months. The product included a heat controlled bone cement, an electromechanical delivery system, advanced software delivery algorithm and mechanical surgical tools. In addition, the group developed two revolutionary bone cements and a unique, simple mixing procedure. The DFine vertebral augmentation system became the industry leader for controlled delivery of ultra-high viscosity bone cement to fix fractures of the spine.

Determined testing plans and performed product validation and verification for FDA and CE mark applications for the Aperius product which was the second product line released by the Kyphon. Shortly after launch, Kyphon was acquired by Medtronic.Prepared reports for FDA and CE mark submissions on new implantable devices which received clearance. Designed and performed biomechanical testing both in situ and in cadavers for marketing literature, white papers and peered reviewed presentation and publications to differentiate company products from competitors
