I'm designing and implementing a system that enables associates in our global fulfillment centers to get help and resolve issues impacting their productivity. We are creating a system for self-managed globally reusable events that are localized (i18n) for use our warehouses all over the world.The information on issues impacting associates is gathered in and made available for reporting enabling identification of problem processes and systems that may require refactoring to improve safety and productivity.The entire system is serverless. Our UX runs on tablets and computers in Amazon fulfillment centers. The front end, built using react and typescript, interfaces with the backend using with AppSync and Rest interfaces. The Rest interfaces are modeled in AWS standard Smithy 2.0.The backend is implemented in Java and TypeScript Lambdas using a DynamoDB. Our data is streamed out of our backend using SNS, SQS, and Kinesis into an Datalake for reporting and analysis. The SNS interface is also used to enable integrations including Chime/Slack and partner services.The entire system is deployed in AWS using the AWS CDK with CI/CD.
