During the extent of my three-month contract, I became familiar with the systems in use at HMH, specifically the Typéfi Publishing System. In addition, I learned the Trade Division's in-house typesetting styles as part of entering corrections to general interest, young readers, and culinary titles.• Developed InDesign templates for Typéfi Publishing System based off design samples • Implement editorial changes to book layouts from marked-up hard copy• Scripted InDesign to automate repetitive tasks

As the Workflow & Digital Asset Manager, I design workflow and asset management strategies for new projects and support existing projects at America's Test Kitchen. A primary objective is to find ways to better integrate Adobe's Creative Suite software, (particularly Photoshop) into a streamlined and automated imaging workflow. Further, designing the workflow in a way to supports a business model of dynamic repurposing of content be it online or printed in duotone, quadtone, or full color CMYK outputs. • Developed in-house application for automated image processing with Photoshop • Cumulus Enterprise system administration, installation, upgrades • Custom Cumulus Scheduler workflows and background automation • Secondary administrator for Vjoon's K4 Publishing System • Integrating external applications to Cumulus: Photoshop, SIPS, ImageMagic, Handbrake • Tomcat Server administration on Mac OS X Server and Ubuntu. • WebApp customization via editing CSS and JSPX • Desktop application scripting • Implemented company’s first InDesign to XML workflow • Designed custom XML Schema for recipe representation

• Comprehensive imaging workflow development and implementation• Set company-wide standards on display and contract-proofing device calibration.• Researched color management best practices• Established a guideline of toning images to reinforce and maintain product branding• Worked with vendors to provide print-ready PDF X-1a files.• Attended off-site press approvals; Matched press color to contract proofs and executed changes in ink levels to resolve in-line conflicts• Leveraged XMP metadata and various automation methods to dynamically prepare images for multiple publications with different print requirements • Strategic plan on normalizing legacy assets to enable faster repurposing for newer projects• Sr. administrator for enterprise DAM solution
