Director of College Success, KIPP Forward | Diversity & Equity Advocate | Adjunct Professor in Higher EducationI am a dedicated higher education professional with a passion for fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within academic environments. With a PhD in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania, my research has uncovers l the experiences of first-generation college students and the valuable insights that Hispanic Serving Institutions offer to the broader landscape of higher education.My career began at Cornell University, where I served as Assistant Dean of Students from 2013-2016. In this role, I spearheaded diversity initiatives and provided critical support to first-generation students and underrepresented students. As an adjunct professor, I teach courses on diversity and equity, sharing my expertise and insights with the next generation of educators and leaders. Since 2020, I have been part of the KIPPNYC team, where my roles have evolved from College Success Manager to Associate Director, and now as a Director of College Success with KIPP Forward. In my current position, I lead a dedicated team of college success advisors and oversee programs that support over 1,000 KIPP and Achievement First alumni across NYC, NJ, and Philadelphia regions.At KIPP Forward, I am proud to have developed and executed impactful diversity and equity programs for our staff, ensuring that our staff are equipped with the tools to help our alumni not only succeed in college but also thrive in an inclusive and supportive environment.
