Chief Information Officer - Senior IT executive with demonstrated experience building and running mission-critical, strategic, cost-effective IT organizations.* CIO for HR services division of ACS, which provided benefits administration for 200 clients and total HR outsourcing incl. ERP/HRIS, payroll, shared service centers, and back-office for eight global firms.* Led IT for total benefits outsourcing business for health & welfare, pension, and 401(k) for over 200 clients with six million plan participants in the US. Required 24x7 availability w/ market position risks. * Cut operating and expense budget by over 20% two years in a row without a drop in service.* Managed on-shore/off-shore development teams using traditional and XP/scrum methodologies. * M&A experience migrating production infrastructure to a new network, data center, mainframe, and ops team on-time, on-budget and beat synergy targets. * Offshore experience: Shifted over 50% of application development, analysis, and infrastructure support to staff and contractors in India, Malaysia, China, Mexico, and Ghana. * Strategic product direction in partnership with business leaders, executives, and clients.* Experience in successfully handling audit, security, disaster recovery/business continuity planning, testing, and remediation.

I headed technology for the retirement practice. This group was sold to ACS in May 2005. In this role I ran the co-sourced pension administration system for small/mid-market clients, supported the valuation system, records management, knowledge management. Two major accomplishments in this role were the selection and rollout of a new valuation system, completing conversion of all non-governmental clients in under one year. The other was the design and rollout of a client portal to share pension valuation data with clients (current, historical, and real-time modeling/projection tools).

At this small non-profit education organization, I both set strategy for infrastructure and application development as well as did all the work--everything from programming registrar databases, to hooking them up to the Internet in 1991, to managing the budget, to unjamming printers. It gave me a wide range of experiences both operationally and in leadership. After a year, I realized that the organization could not afford and didn't need full-time IT help and outsourced myself. My last project there was I found a firm that would do support and development on a contract basis for considerably less.
