I like innovators in business, NFP and NGO that grab social media and are keen to explore new low cost technology that is proliferating around us: it is a great space to be operating at the moment, especially for passionate start-ups and small/medium organisations.I believe corporate and social responsibility are not divergent from the goals of private enterprise. With this in mind, I have founded Optimize Business to provide coaching, strategy, planning, marketing and services to start-ups, government and NFP organisations.Based in Australia (Melbourne) and cyber ready, Optimize Business can provide these services virtually anywhere. My business has a specialty in emergency services community engagement and information.With an Economics degree and CPA qualification, my niche has recently been bringing financial and governance rigor to marketing investments, decision making and processes. I've assisted start-up bio-techs in the US where I lived for seven years and held management roles in both marketing and finance functions in a large US telco (Sprint Nextel) and with the ANZ bank in Australia. In both countries I have led complex projects that optimised significant enterprise investments in the core functional area.I am excited by the prospects that social media, smart phones and other technologies are delivering to the SMB & NFP segments and, given the often poor strategic use of social media by many, I focus on assisting organisations build these capabilities.
