I am a litigation attorney on my firm’s financial services litigation team, where I represent multiple national banking institutions and lenders in all phases of complex financial services litigation, from inception through resolution.My practice concentrates on lawsuits involving financial products including mortgage loans (including issues as to origination, servicing, and loan modifications), credit cards, and motor vehicle loans.I have a proven track record in the successful defense of clients in matters involving federal legal issues including, but not limited to the FCRA, RESPA, TILA, FDCAP, and UDAAP; along with similar state-specific issues as well.In my practice, I draft and file a variety of pleadings in state and federal courts in multiple jurisdictions which include, but are not limited to complaints, answers, motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and appellate briefs. I also compile comprehensive reports for in-house attorney and paralegal clients, including the analysis of a wide variety of legal issues. The goal of my representation in each case that I handle is to provide sound advice to clients for a swift and cost-effective resolution. I am currently responsible for the independent management of a very large caseload, which requires high-level organizational skills and the ability to continuously prioritize a multitude of tasks in each individual case.

In this role, I managed, developed, and mentored associates, paralegals, and legal assistants, while implementing firm policies to strategically increase profit and growth of the firm.I also investigated and analyzed factual and legal issues associated with workers’ compensation claims at all stages of litigation, from inception through resolution.Furhte, I represented, advised, and partnered with insurance carrier and employer clients, where the common goal was to minimize risk and a cost-effective and quick resolution of claims. I also participated in depositions of physicians and other expert witness, mediations, and hearings that spanned the entire State of North Carolina. As a separate service to my clients, I authored and presented educational training to insurance adjusters and employer representatives on various legal topics that included the introduction and analysis of case law and statutory updates, to develop best practices for the minimization or elimination of risk. Finally, I drafted and submitted workers’ compensation pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and briefing to the North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission and the North Carolina Court of Appeals.

My practice at this firm focused entirely on representation of insurance and employer clients in workers’ compensation claims through all stages of litigation. In the representation of my clients in this role, I provided cost-effective and sound legal advice to insurance adjuster and employer representative clients, resulting in earned client trust and the substantial growth of my practice.

My practice focused on civil, business, and commercial litigation with an emphasis on recovery of accounts receivable and creditor rights. In my role, I represented and negotiated for clients in various court proceedings while handling pleadings, discovery, mediations, and depositions.

I am very proud of my five years of service to the State of North Carolina. In my role as a member of the Misdemeanor Team, where I served from September 2000 to April 2001, I managed large court dockets daily of over two-hundred cases in North Carolina District Court, consisting of the facilitation and negotiation of guilty pleas, interviewing witnesses, and conducting bench trials. As a member of the Drug Prosecution Team from April 2001 to November 2004, I analyzed and evaluated several hundred felony cases in preparation for North Carolina Superior Court, including preparation of discovery, negotiation of guilty pleas, and witness interviews. In this role, I also conducted over twenty-five jury trials in Superior Court. Finally, as a member of the Crimes Against Persons Team from November 2004 to April 2005, I had similar responsibilities as I did with the Drug Prosecution Team, where I handled a personal inventory averaging over one hundred defendants, all who were charged with gun-related crimes, including rape, robbery, serious assaults, and attempted murder.
