I am an author, producer, serial entrepreneur, public speaker, and long-time veteran of creative campaigns for social change. I am currently CEO* of the Climate Clock, a project I co-founded that melds art, science, technology, and grassroots organizing to get the world to #ActInTime. (*On a good day, Chief Executive Officer; on a bad day, Chief Existential Officer :-) )With five books and 30 years of activism under my belt, I've been at this a while. I led the decade-long satirical media campaign “Billionaires for Bush;” was a principal at the Agit-Pop creative agency & progressive netroots powerhouse Other98%; founded the art-activist toolbox/laboratory Beautiful Trouble; and co-created the global story-sharing project & climate grief ritual The Climate Ribbon. In both my campaigns and books, I try to follow the guidance of Milan Kundera: “to unite the utmost seriousness of question with the utmost lightness of form.” You can find more about me at bettercatastophe.com & andrewboyd.com.Some awards:Starred Reviews from Kirkus & Foreword Reviews, 2023.Best American Essays, honorable-mention, 2012.Best Political Prank of the Year, Zug, 2009YouTube's Best Political Video of 2007"The Heeb 100," Heeb Magazine, 2005.Finalist, "Bush in 30 Seconds," MoveOn, 2004Best of the Web, 2004Best of the Web, 2000Best humor trade paperback, Columbus Dispatch, 1998.
