Improved ad network performance and revenues. Implemented large-scale Amazon EC2 infrastructure and deployment environments with Chef, greatly increased operations efficiency. Built dashboard site with Backbone.js and CoffeeScript to provide realtime ad performance metrics to ad agencies.Waddle – iPhone photography app. Improved UI smoothness by minimizing operations in the main thread, implemented better push notifications handling to provider better user experience.Serious Business (acquired by Zynga) – Facebook games. Developed “Labs” section of The Hierarchy social game, players spent time or game currency in the labs to improve their characters. Utilized Rails, client-side JavaScript with jQuery, HAML and SASS. The Labs increased user engagement and revenues.Inigral – Education startup. Developed a Q&A platform in their Facebook application for higher education institutes with Rails, RSpec and MySQL. Implemented multi-tenant Rails application and deployment infrastructure with Capistrano and Sprinkle, which allowed the application to scale vertically to large number of schools.

Built a SaaS portfolios hosting platform for photographers and artists with test-driven Ruby on Rails and iOS SDK. The iPhone and iPad Universal app was one of the first to utilize iOS 4 features such as background tasks completion and local notifications. The app was approved by Apple seven days after initial submission.

Created @dontswipeapp. Released the swipe-to-select components under an open license.

One of two founding engineers in a four-person startup. Responsible for all things technical, from AWS infrastructure to web frontend development. Built Flowtown v2, a social media marketing tool for small businesses with Rails, MySQL, CouchDB, and Redis. The application was profitable and had over 30k paying users. Developed Timely, a tool to analyze Twitter historical engagement in order to schedule tweets at the most optical times. Site was built with client-side JavaScript, MongoDB, and a Rails 3 REST JSON API. Timely generated a cult following and was eventually acquired by Intuit.

Facebook applications development in Rails for brands such as Bebo, Hearst, Ford, Bank of America, and the Olympics Games.

Oversaw all technical aspects, fundraising and, investors relations of a high-traffic “Web 2.0” user-generated contents site in Rails on EC2.

Implemented models for DMA, Bluetooth encryption, frequency-hopping, audio codecs such as A-law, U-law and CVSD in Vera with RVM, C, and Matlab. Integrated the Xtensa CPU core into digital simulation framework, this allowed the execution of actual C tests in simulations. Integrated Matlab modem simulations with C shared libraries and Direct-C in Vera. This provided bit-accurate simulations of complex interactions between radio, modem and digital blocks.Implemented an object-oriented framework for directed and random simulations of both block and system level tests. The random tests found complex bugs that would have been difficult and costly to debug in emulation and post-silicon environments.

Implemented, from scratch, a major part of SigmaTel’s object-oriented verification infrastructure in VERA, this allowed migration from block to system level testbenches and reuse of testbench components.Design verification of HDD, NAND flash, and SD/MMC interfaces of SigmaTel’s 3600 MP3 player SoC. The 3600’s predecessor, the 3500, powered the original iPod Shuffle.

Contributed to the design and implementation, from scratch, of Newisys’ design verification infrastructure, such as their object-oriented software environment, regression scripts and MySQL backend. Improved efficiency and usability, and drove to verification completion of a complex ccNUMA cache routing ASIC.Ported AMD’s Opteron K8 CPU behavioral model from SystemC to VERA, enabled the mix-and-match of RTL and Behavioral BFM components in simulations.Helped initial development of JOVE, a Java verification environment. It was later open-sourced.

Created the binary file manifest object for integration with the AutoXfer product in C/C++, which improved system efficiency by 30%.Researched on Sandia Xpress Transfer Protocol (XTP) for future multicast communication in AutoXfer, which helped programmers understand the technical tradeoffs with going multicast.Set up the local discussion groups server (INN), which provided the lab with organized technical and humor discussion groups.
