Responsibilities included corporate governance and regulatory compliance for all North American business, including managing relationships and communications with all state and federal regulators. Performed all complex contract drafting including MGA/MGU agreements, intermediary agreements, IT licenses, non-disclosure agreements, leases, and employment-related contracts. Managed corporate litigation, HR claims, and reviewed all declaratory judgment filings and material bad faith claims brought against U.S. entities.

Provide legal advice to underwriting operations and senior management regarding regulatory compliance, contract drafting, legislative and judicial developments. Speaker at Mealey’s, IRU, and PLI reinsurance seminars.

Chief counsel for assumed reinsurance operations in Hartford, Boston and England, and assisted with ceded disputes and contract issues. Responsibilities included drafting and negotiating reinsurance contract wording for Hartford’s property and casualty reinsurance contracts, and the resolution of large value and complex assumed and ceded reinsurance coverage disputes both in the U.S. and United Kingdom. Executive Director, Pollution Claims Responsibilities included the management of home office claim supervisory personnel, four field offices, and various support staff dedicated to the resolution of pollution claims for The Hartford Insurance Group’s affiliated companies. As Environmental Counsel supervised a team of three lawyers and one paralegal responsible for managing the nationwide environmental coverage litigation involving The Hartford's affiliated companies.

Trial attorney with experience in toxic tort and product liability suits, premises operations and automobile accident claim litigation, and commercial litigation involving construction contracts and surety bonds. Obtained favorable jury verdicts in six different judicial districts.
