Responsible for initiation and management of gas distribution network reinforcement, relocation, and replacement projects. Management of multiple simultaneous large scale projects, from initiation to execution.Duties include:•As a senior planner, provide mentorship, advice, and support to peers new to the role•Design projects to meet both internal and external requirements and specifications•Complete network analysis for proposed projects using pipeline simulation software•Create original training documents to be used Company wide as part of the on-boarding process for new Planners•Complete records investigation, analysis, and corrections•Responsible for selecting suitable project materials based on operating pressure, line location, pipeline integrity requirements, and pipeline status•Support both the Operations and Construction departments during construction activities by providing work alteration recommendations and obtaining internal approvals•Provide on-call 24/7 network analysis for emergency situations•Knowledgeable of company Planning, Design, & Records manual, as well as Construction & Operations manual•Initiate, manage, and finalize 25-30 different projects per year, with costs ranging from $20,000 to $3,000,000•Ensure projects are completed within the typical project timeline of 6 to 12 months•Prioritize projects based on necessity, complexity, and feasibility•Manage the revision and approval process by internal departments such as Corrosion, Engineering, Land, and EH&S•Ensure project dependencies are met prior to construction, including material acquisition, internal and external approvals and permits, contractor availability, and approved authorization for expenditure•Meet with various municipalities and government agencies before and during utility relocation projects•Present at monthly stakeholder meetings, providing project updates to contractors, internal department managers, and 3rd party representatives
