In addition to my project, I helped assemble and test a development engine during a short testing window.• Performed HAZOP risk analysis, generated and updated a test log• Assisted with integration of the IPS rig into the test facility, working closely with test and integration engineers to proof test and commission the rig• Oversaw static and dynamic commissioning testing at ambient and cryogenic temperatures, making critical decisions regarding test parameters and sequences• Implemented and revised existing test plans to meet as many test objectives as possible, despite facility and instrumentation constraints• Analyzed test data to extract desired quantities and evaluate test rig operating characteristics; noticed several unexpected behaviors requiring attention and explanation.• Disassembled test rig to find a location of rubbing interference; performed a close investigation of the assembly’s tolerance stacks and hardware and discovered the root cause.• Redesigned a portion of the test rig’s tubing and instrumentation locations for improved data acquisition and fidelity• Performed a failure investigation of the test rig drivetrain which revealed a component lacking proper material properties• Outside of my project, I had the opportunity to assist with the assembly of a development engine, and traveled to the test facility to observe and assist with full-scale engine testing
