Researched turbulent, premixed bluff-body stabilized flames using gaseous and liquid fuels (toluene and n-dodecane) in Dr. Baki Cetegen's Combustion and Gas Dynamics Laboratory. This research characterized flame-turbulence interactions using key jet fuels and will contribute to the design of more stable and environmentally friendly combustion systems. This experience culminated in a written thesis entitled "Comparative Experimental Study of Turbulent Premixed V Flames Fueled by Propane, Prevaporized Toluene and n-Dodecane".My daily research tasks included:• Utilizing non-intrusive laser diagnostics and ICCD cameras to perform thermometry, PLIF and velocimetry studies• Programming MATLAB codes for image processing and analysis of results• Writing and editing LabVIEW VI's to control camera imaging and record data from thermocouples and a radiometer• Modifying mass flow system of bluff-body burner to control the composition, temperature and velocity of incoming flow• Creating combustion related simulations using Cantera in Python to supplement experimental data collected

• Created mechanical tool designs to reduce the time and cost of an installation procedure. • Performed a trade-study to downselect tool designs and presented recommended designs to management to pursue further• Reviewed design drawings and surveyed available surplus inventory by corresponding with subcontractors

• Designed a containment room and ventilation system to allow Bauer to expand their product line and work with corrosive substances• Presented a summary report and cost analysis to management team for approval• Initiated meetings with contractors & vendors for the acquisition of necessary equipment and services• Edited hydraulic and electrical schematics to demonstrate how products function mechanically• Compared customer data to Bauer data using statistical techniques as part of the sales approval process• Converted old Cadkey drawings into 3D models using Solidworks as part of an internal modernization effort• Collaborated with a team of interns to update and streamline technical documents for the sales team

As a counselor for Therapeutic Recreation summer program I ensured that the campers were safe and had fun. The camp provided individualized programming for children and teenagers with disabilities. As a counselor, I created activities suited to each child's ability levels, and adapted existing activities so every child could participate. My co-counselors and I worked together to create a positive environment, in which the children could interact and play together.
