Skills: Java, Spring/Spring Boot, SQL, Python, Git, Agile methodologies, working to tight deadlines under pressure, liaising with clients to understand their requirements.I have recently completed an MSc in Software Development at the University of Strathclyde, where I achieved a distinction grade. I am experienced in a variety of skills and programming languages. I have particular experience with Java, having used this for my dissertation project where I built a runtime monitor for concurrent Java programs, which provided real-time information on all the threads running in a program and also provided visual representations in the form of graphs and charts. I have also used Java and Spring Boot to build my own APIs for some personal projects.I have experience of working in high-pressure situations, such as subtitling prime-time BBC 1 programmes, such as Match Of The Day and The One Show, where my subtitles could potentially be seen by millions of people. Additionally, I have experience of producing high-quality work to tight deadlines, working both independently and as part of a team, and liaising with clients to understand their requirements for a job.I also have an undergraduate degree in Sociology for the University of Glasgow, where I gained experience of recruiting and interviewing participants for research projects, both quantitative and qualitative, and then processing and analysing the results.I am currently looking for my first software development role, and I am excited to get started in my new career.
