I co-founded HighScale Ventures in April 2021 as a new entity initially established to acquire our Transamerica Ventures portfolio after my partner and I bought our fund in a GP-led, private equity-backed secondary transaction and spun out of Transamerica/Aegon.

I spent seven years leading the North American investment arm of Transamerica Ventures, the venture fund of Transamerica and parent company Aegon, a publicly-traded, Netherlands-based global financial institution. There I focused primarily on investments across Fintech, Insurtech, Enterprise Software, SMB SaaS, Digital Health, AI and Crypto in the US, Europe, India, SE Asia and Brazil. We also operated a small fund of funds, so I spent time meeting other managers to evaluate capital allocation opportunities.As the North America lead, I spent my time focused on sourcing deals, conducting due diligence and analysis, negotiating structures, terms and legal documents, authoring investment memos, executing transactions, managing portfolio companies (including sitting on boards), networking with investors and founders across the globe to ensure we were seeing the best deals, developing industry and market theses, building relationships with internal executives and stakeholders across all of our business lines and geographies, creating corporate partnerships and leading a team of analysts.

Associate at KBJ Capital, the venture arm of the family office of Kristopher B. Jones, a successful entrepreneur, investor and consultant. I analyzed and evaluated investment opportunities, conducted extensive research on markets and trends, provided analysis and recommendations on investment decisions, and supported portfolio companies with operating plans.

Consultant for a Pennsylvania-registered 501(c)(3) that operated as a network of people whose mission was to promote and support charitable endeavors - many with Penn State ties - as well as to inspire them to make an impact on the lives of others. In partnership with a former teammate, I developed and manufactured a limited-edition piece of Penn State sports memorabilia that sold out online in only a few weeks, with all of the profits going to Success with Honor and their member charities, which included the Special Olympics of PA and Uplifting Athletes. I also consulted the charity on their digital technology and e-commerce strategies.

OrthoApp, LLC is a dental marketing start-up that helps dentists acquire more patients and become more efficient while helping patients access qualified care providers and save time.The "virtual orthodontic consultation" allows patients to submit a case to specific dentists and allows these dentists to "pre-assess" candidates' problems and desired treatment goals before they ever set foot in their offices.

Co-founder of a startup focused on solving excess capacity at different venues through live, real-time pricing, initially focused on bars and nightclubs. We built the product and were starting to roll it out when we were approached by and decided to sell to a company that wanted to integrate our mobile app into their web-based solution. Although it was a small transaction, it was my first experience selling a company.

EdTech SaaS platform that provided various products and solutions – all focused on student, parent, teacher and community engagement – to K-12 districts around the country.

Co-founder of a startup right out of school based around the aggregation of disparate media to tell robust stories, often in partnership with news outlets. We built a product, released it to thousands of beta users, and raised a small angel round. While it ultimately didn’t work out, it was one of the best learning experiences I have ever had.
