Responsible for the safe, sustainable, and efficient planning, implementation, and operation of the mechanical and utilities infrastructure of the Wesleyan University campus comprised of almost 3 million square feet of academic, administrative, athletic and residential space in approximately 300 buildings.• Manage multiple projects from inception to completion up to multi-million dollar values for utility infrastructure, mechanical systems, HVAC, site work, renovation, new construction, major maintenance, and athletic fields projects.• Explore, develop and implement sustainable energy solutions on campus (e.g. solar power, cogeneration, geothermal energy) toward the goal of reducing institutional carbon emissions.• Develop, promote, and manage comprehensive energy projects to address water conservation, alternative energy, replacement of inefficient equipment, gas conversions, lighting upgrades, envelope insulation, etc.• Manage the construction phase project management service including: prepare and award the construction contract, schedule the work with contractors and owners input, conduct weekly construction meetings to address matters such as procedures, progress, problems and scheduling.

Responsible for the overall coordination, execution and achievement of objectives for aftermarket projects from proposal through delivery and commissioning. * Manage a multi-function team of members from various key stakeholders-engineering, manufacturing, testing, operations, service, customer and suppliers; develop procedures in conjunction with engineering as a means of establishing engineering scope of work, scope estimates and budgeting.* Coordination, facilitation and evaluation of multi-functional project teams to ensure efficient and on-time completion of projects. With the guidance of senior staff members, will plan, coordinate and monitor projects, develop scope of work, confer with departments and consultants, and document budget reports and authorization related recommendations.* Manage and coordinate effectively the work of the Project Management Team.* Takes an active role in general proposal/project planning and ensures timely delivery of all proposals, progress reports, including monthly project performance information and associated updates, from the team and all other imperatives linked to the work of the team.* Work with other members of the team to ensure timely delivery of monthly performance information and associated updates.* Successfully manage projects through use of CPI/P3 methodology to ensure that the results are on time, and to the required quality. This includes attending all necessary project meetings and the taking on of additional tasks where applicable.* Research and write the required project documentation to a satisfactory standard in order that a project can be initiated, managed and closed per the terms of the contract.* Responsible for negotiation with all key stakeholders in a given project and responding to their needs where applicable.* Determine feasibility and costs of requests for services and proposed projects; prepare budgets, cost estimates, and project schedule for all projects.

Manage all technical activities on assigned projects, following company procedures. Work closely with project manager, project planner, sub-contract manager, project design lead and functional department engineers to ensure project schedule and budget requirements are met. Technical liaison between clients, partners, suppliers, constructors, and the company. * Ensure technical accuracy and on-time completion of project technical documents, RFQ’s for material and equipment, conformed contract purchase documents, commissioning procedures, O&M Manuals, and acceptance test procedures and reports.* Coordinate the project’s engineering effort, ensuring technical integrity and compliance with project specifications, other relevant documents and codes.* Effectively serve as primary company engineering representative to clients and alliance partners and resolve all issues relating to the technical aspects of the project.* Conduct and participate in meetings with clients, alliance partners, sub-contract engineers, and major equipment and fabricator suppliers to ensure technical leadership is provided for the project.* Ensure projects are executed within schedule and budget.

Boiler design work including biomass, biomass conversions, waste-to-energy, and solar. Lead proposal engineer on solar boiler project and primary boiler design engineer for solar boiler contract.Perform advanced calculations in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, two-phase flow, circulation, combustion calculations, metallurgy, mechanical properties, and structural design. Focus on steam generation through fossil fuel and renewable energy combustion.* Conduct calculations for thermal performance, process design, heat transfer, metal selection and fluid flow.* Generate performance specifications for auxiliary equipment.* Handle full contract and proposal boiler design responsibilities.* Handle complete engineering and contractual obligations.* Establish overall and detail design of boilers.* Prepare, execute, and evaluate data for field test programs.* Monitor the work product of vendors, including schedule, budget, scope requirements, technical review and deliverables.
