This internship featured two parts, one as a Territory Sales Manager (TSM), and another in the last several weeks in an elevated role as an Account Manager for a chain. As a TSM, I controlled sales of Altria-owned products in a territory of high-volume retailers in Greensboro, NC. My critical skills gained included using consumer data, full scale sales analytics, and on-site assessment to identify selling opportunities in retail locations, and to adapt our diverse product line to strengthen brand sales while achieving retailer goals. As an Account Manager, I used on-site assessments of store locations and statistically examined their sales performance as well as the pricing data of the surrounding competition to recommend a tiered pricing strategy on products in dense markets. This concluded with a presentation to an executive.

Founded a local chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Currently operating as the Treasurer of this 82-student organization, which entails managing $30,070 for 62 members. This highly-involved position placed me at the heart of a chapter that I helped found, and it taught me not only the values of financial management and organization, but of tact, shrewdness, and cooperation for the vitality of the group.

I worked for Bond as a direct sales intern, selling robotically-handwritten note subscriptions to customers. Throughout the summer, I gained experience comfortably introducing potential clients to the product and advising the best fit for their business needs. By the end, I closed 21 contracts amounting to over $26,000 in revenue, and managed accounts to gauge satisfaction, usage, and effectiveness for clients.

Worked on a project under Dr. Ian Shih and with graduate student Esteban Oyarzabal to utilize optogenetic techniques to identify how the neuron channels within the locus coeruleus (LC) connect to the brain at various tonic firing rates. The project hopes to lay the foundation for further research that could potentially lead to great advancements in Parkinson's Disease treatment.

Operated the most profitable Starbucks store in the district with a partner to serve customers and provide legendary customer service. I contributed to profitability by implementing strategies to organize large volumes of customers and to productively handle workflow during peak hours. Trained and oversaw development of new employees to ensure an efficient onboarding process

Assisted with the set up of a new ophthalmology clinic and aided with general tasks. Recorded patient history, coaxed patients, and occasionally translated between Russian and English for patients and technicians.

Reto's Kitchen is a quality foods catering service located in Greensboro, NC. During my 3 month internship with Reto, I learned to cook professional foods and personally catered at large, formal events like the Greensboro Symphony "Name That Tune" fundraising event, as well as a private Kentucky Derby party. Both events hosted around 80 people that we prepared for. More than just learning to cook, by working with Reto I gained valuable skills in management, organization, and discipline. The catering industry has more than its fair share of emergencies, and it takes a cool head to steer the company forward instead of breaking down.
