I am a dynamic professional and research engineer with more than 15 years of coastal oceanographic, physical process and engineering experience. I have worked across sectors as well as led projects in construction, consulting and research organisations. I am focused on improving the integration between research, industry and government to better understand our coastal waters, develop evidence-based policy and strategies as well as innovative solutions to complex problems that affect our coasts and communities now and in the future. I have a wide range of experience in field data acquisition, laboratory experiments as well as numerical modelling of hydrodynamics, waves, sediment/particle transport and bio-interactions. I lead a wide range of research projects, particularly in the areas of coastal engineering and adaptation, aquaculture interactions with the physical environment, the impact of marine growth on objects and on the future of reef fringed coastlines.

Principal Coastal Engineer, Manager Systems & OperationsFsc Apr 2021 - PresentMelbourne, Victoria, AustraliaI lead our Coastal Engineering advisory services across the Asia-Pacific region, as well as Manage our Systems and Resources at FSC Range. We work with our clients to reinvent the way communities interact with the coastal environment. To achieve this, we look to identify how we can bring the latest research, knowledge and thought into every project. -
Research FellowUniversity Of Melbourne Aug 2024 - PresentAt The University of Melbourne I work across research disciplines on a wide range of coastal problems. I currently work on the development of physical process based understanding of how a range of ecosystems affect waves, coastal erosion as well as coastal flooding. Through my network of collaborators, we aim to build the case to restore coastal environments including coral reefs, shellfish reefs, mangroves, seagrass as well as macro-algae reefs.
