Lead Engineering role and Product Engineering Specialist for both Mechanical & Electrical Product Engineering.Responsibilities• Concept to Launch Leader of Project Engineering teams with full budget, timing & staff (incl recruitment) responsibilities.• Delivery responsibility for new electronically controlled powered mechanisms, including complex manual structures and mechanisms with electrical and electronic interfaces.• Project management responsibility extended to risk management, value engineering, manufacturing feasibility sign-off, quality documentation and customer sign-off.Achievements• Successful development & launch of JCA’s first European Electronic memory power seat, with high satisfaction & acknowledgement from customer.• Introduced new design & testing techniques required for product validation, including design and installation of new test equipment, for risk management of crash load behaviour & updates of new homologation requirements.• Development & innovations on ECU’s & wiring harnesses, Core manual & power tracks with memory, height adjusters, Emerging Market recliners, lumbar adjusters , heaters and other trim features.• Design & analysis of safety related crash resistant structural components to integrate with the vehicle for assessing occupant injury limits during various crash simulations, and amending designs.• Introduction of design changes to reduce piece price whilst maintaining technical performance.

Responsible for whole vehicle and sub system mechanical and electrical design & development including vehicle build (large RWD and small FWD commercial vehicles).Responsibilities• Managed the build of development vehicles and packaging bucks incorporating new model and product features, including powertrains and all other vehicle and interior systems • Responsible for mechanical and electrical design & development to satisfy unique customer requirements as part of the highly successful on-site Special Vehicle Operations. Achievements• Ground breaking development of first light commercial vehicle with Air Suspension involving new chassis systems with electronic control units & brake system integration • New Gasoline V8, Turbo Diesel engine and driveline installations.• Developed special brake systems for high performance vehicles, & specific homologation requirements.• Introduced many new special vehicles including “mission critical” emergency vehicles for Police and Ambulance authorities with complex electrical and mechanical systems. These programmes were delivered against very tight timing and budget constraints

Product Development role responsible for organising prototype build and test programmes.Responsibilities• Rig and dyno-testing; oil flow and bearing / seal development, refinement improvements; strain gauge instrumentation for static strength testing; and proposals for re-design / product improvement.Achievements• Full indentured BTEC Apprenticeship gained within design, development, manufacturing & production functions.• Extensive experience gained in testing and validating to OEM and Tier 1 requirements including laboratory and in-vehicle testing• Implemented additional cooling and oil capacity for high performance Maserati application.
