In my current role, I am working as member of the Production Services group supporting Facets, a claims processing application with over 10,000 daily users. My main responsibilities are on the Operations & Maintenance team, where I am responsible for both managing our teams Level 2 support queue and serving as a technical resource for application front end issues encountered by end users. In addition, I work with users and outside vendors to capture and then analyze event logs and other data to determine fault when issues are found in our application, and then work with developers and other SME's to correct defects when they are found.I have also built and maintained a set of new monitoring and reporting dashboards for our group. By strategically utilizing new open source technologies such as Grafana, Influx DB, and Prometheus, we now have excellent visibility into the functionality, performance, and health of our applications and services.

Upon graduation from the Optum Technology Development Program, I joined the Solution Engineering & Delivery group within Enterprise Technology. My main role with this team was working as a Product Owner for both a suite of infrastructure tools, and our groups Data Analytics & Reporting Services team.While a part of this team, I was responsible for working with our systems analysts and our business contacts to translate their needs into detailed user stories with Gherkin based acceptance criteria for both development work on our application suite, and dashboards and reports built through Tableau. I also was one of 12 product owners who participated as a member of the Data Governance and Reporting Council, where we would share new reports and ideas and brainstorm new ways to leverage data utilized by the company.In addition, I helped drive an effort supporting modernization of our applications infrastructure by exploring the technologies needed to move our apps off of traditional virtual machines and onto containers. I worked with other product owners to learn how to utilize new technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and also the development of a CI/CD pipeline.

Participated in a 13 month information technology rotation program with UnitedHealth Group. Roles included:Rotation #1 - Systems Analyst/Data Analyst, End User Technology ServicesAs a systems analyst, my roles included serving as a member of an Agile scrum team supporting our new internal AppStore, which was the main resource employees would use for acquiring software. I was responsible for building documentation for the team, gathering feedback from end users and the business to identify opportunities for future improvements, and working with our teams product owner to translate those needs and wants into user stories. I was also given the chance to join the Business Intelligence group for the second half of my rotation and work as a data analyst, where I lead a data science project with the goal of reducing service ticket volume. We analyzed a massive amount of data to try and determine things such as ideal age for hardware retirement, and also to identify use cases for the application of machine learning. With this group, I was exposed to new languages such as Python and R, as well as new technologies such as Spark and Zeppelin.Rotation #2 - Quality Engineer, Community & State Strategic PlatformAs a Quality Engineer, my main responsibilities were completing testing on multiple state healthcare program projects. I would coordinate with both the systems analysts and developers to write test cases, complete the testing, and identify defects or opportunities to improve the product. I would also be responsible for setting up demos and showcases for the business, and bringing feedback from these demos back to the scrum teams. While in this role, I learned to work with tools such as Jenkins and Selenium, and also was able to learn some Java.

Cleveland/Akron, Ohio Area

Interned for two semesters at FirstEnergy, a Fortune 200 public utilities company based in Akron, OH.During my time as an intern, I worked as a Systems Analyst in the IT Finance group. I was given opportunities to lead a project that corrected a major security concern for the company, work with an outside vendor to complete infrastructure updates, identify a code defect that affected over 53,000 customer accounts, and assist with the development of a code fix that corrected that defect.In addition to these main projects, I also assisted with quality assurance testing for our payment systems from writing of test plans to execution, wrote detailed knowledge transfer documentation to assist new employees and future interns, and was given multiple opporunities to go out and interact with and work alongside the business side of the finance group to ensure we were meeting their needs.

Responsible for maintaining vehicle quality standards for customers, as well as ensuring customer pickups were completed in a timely manner. Assisted in the office with additional duties as required, such as assisting and interacting with customers.

Worked with a diverse multi-national team to complete general park operations tasks, such as guest relations, season ticket sales, data entry, admissions gate scanning, and general ticket sales, and also cross trained in ride operations and safety procedures.
