I represent management in employment litigation, provide advice in employment matters, and conduct independent fact-finding investigations of complaints of employment law and/or policy violations. I have worked with government entities, businesses of all sizes, and non-profit organizations. I draft and update workplace policies and employee handbooks, provide workplace training, and advise clients on employment issues when they arise. I also draft, review, and negotiate employment, partnership, and independent contractor agreements, as well as confidentiality, non-solicitation, and non-competition agreements. I spend the majority of my time representing clients before state and federal administrative agencies and in state and federal court proceedings. I just completed a three-year term representing District 19 (Oregon, South Carolina, and Iowa) on the American Bar Association (ABA) Board of Governors and served two consecutive terms as Chair of the Board’s Finance Committee and as a member of the Board's Executive Committee. I also acted as the Board's liaison to the Standing Committee on Membership and the Standing Committee on Bar Activities and Services. I now serve on SCOPE, as a member of the Standing Committee on Audit, and as an At-Large Delegate to the House of Delegates. I am a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and Chair of the Oregon Chapter of the Fellows. I currently serve as a Board Member of the Portland Business Alliance and am a graduate of Leadership Portland and Past Chair of the Leadership Portland Alumni Association. I previously served as President of the Multnomah Bar Association (MBA) and led both the ABA Young Lawyers Division (YLD) and the MBA Young Lawyers Section. I am certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute and as a SHRM-SCP by the Society for Human Resource Management. I was first listed in the Oregon Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star in 2009 and have been listed as a Super Lawyer since 2013. I am admitted to practice law in Oregon and Washington state and federal courts.
