Founded in 2015, EnMass Energy developed a portfolio of biomass projects valued at $100M. In 2019, EnMass Energy expanded tech-enabled services by building the first digital twin software to automate all aspects of procurement of biomass materials before they cross the project gates. After participating in the inaugural Social Impact cohort of Techstars in 2020, EnMass Energy raised a $2.5M seed round from world class venture capital partners and helped a large portfolio of biomass projects and project companies improve their supply operations.

In 2013, I launched a startup NGO focused on the nascent US carbon market, collaborating with distributors in Asia and Africa to connect to voluntary and compliance purchasers. In addition to commercializing carbon projects in the US, I developed and supported new projects that provided technologies that enhanced utility offerings for families/clients. 501Carbon provided climate and energy consultancy and renewable energy project development services in both the US and Asia.

I accepted this consulting role in China help develop waste-to-energy projects and provide energy policy interventions with local/provincial governments across the country. During this time, I helped develop and implement a biogas project tracking database software to service 100,000+ small farmers in Sichuan region of China. Additionally, I expanded firm partnership base and business development teams within the US and Sub-Sarahan Africa.

When I completed my work with the UN, I was engaged on a contract for the White House Council on Environmental Quality. In that role, I defined guidelines for new federal energy policies and completed macroeconomic energy and climate policy research. Additionally, I setup and hosted meetings with local and international industry leaders, including high level strategy around Vice President Joseph Biden’s “Recovery Through Retrofit” initiative.

In 2011, I had the opportunity to work as part of the UN’s Environmental Program as a Research Consultant, providing detailed econometric policy research for Green Economy Initiative with an individual focus on international energy subsidies and energy markets in developing countries. During this time, I co-authored two UNEP publications, including 2011 UNEP Green Economy Report Chapter 6: Renewable Energy.
