Andy has over 40 years of experience in leadership as a family office leader, financial services executive, and professional advisor. His experience includes C suite roles in single-family offices, as a Managing Director executive at HSBC global private bank, and as a managing partner at Arthur Andersen.Andy's leadership roles have included a complete breadth of family office responsibilities. These include investment, wealth transfer, philanthropy, community engagement, HR, financial, tax, and operational matters.He currently serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board of a leading financial services firm and has or currently serves on over 25 boards of directors of for-profit and not-for-profit private and public companies, including executive, compensation, strategy, and audit committees.Andy is deeply passionate about how adults develop and the impact on family dynamics, especially issues impacting family & closely held businesses. When dysfunctional dynamics create painful emotions or relationships that are causing grief, there are likely too many unspoken words around sensitive issues. By engaging with a calming & experienced voice with strong soft side skills and working along with hard-side professionals, solutions are identified and then realized. No longer in practice, Andy practiced as a Chartered Accountant (FCA) in the U.K. and a CPA (retired) in the USA. He is certified as a civil/commercial disputes mediator by The State Bar Of California and The Florida Bar. with Master's & Doctoral degrees in Human Development and Professional Coaching and with a degree in economics in accounting from the London School of Economics (LSE). Andy is also an adjunct professor at the International Univesity of Professional Studies and serves on the Advisory Board of the London School of Economics, North America.Andy has authored several books about the challenges we face as adults including, "Three Bridges-Adulthood is Easy Until Life Intervenes", “Midlife: Your P curve, it’s not what you think it is! and "What Spurs Me On"Through his active engagement in multiple British & American business interests over multiple decades, he was invested as an Officer of the British Empire (OBE) by His Majesty King Charles.
