In my primary role at this job, I worked selling food, drinks, and alcoholic beverages to the patrons of the club. I ran the concessions shack in the middle of the golf course, where my job was to provide the patrons with anything they needed. This aspect of the job taught me how to sell to customers in a way that is both assertive, yet polite; I worked tirelessly to ensure the happiness and success of both the patrons and my employer. My ability to politely and correctly engage in one-on-one conversations with customers was strengthened, and my interpersonal skills flourished. Other responsibilities included serving drinks to the tennis players, running wedding functions, and aiding as needed in any tasks sent my way. My other job at York Golf and Tennis included dishwashing, prep cooking, plating meals, mopping, sweeping, and taking out the trash. This secondary job at York Golf and Tennis was something I personally sought out, and in conjunction with the retailing aspects, I often worked 65+ hours a week.My experience at this job was invaluable, as it taught me the importance of hard work and perseverance, which are the keys to success in any job.

I was both a contributor and an editor for my University's award-winning literary and arts magazine. My duties included meeting with other section editors and the head editor to plan the layout of the magazine, as well as deciding which pieces were accepted. Nearly 120 poems were submitted in 2018, but only 20 were accepted and part of my job was to decide which poems were selected. Alongside that, I also edited and reviewed all of the accepted pieces of nonfiction and helped ensure that they fitted into the magazine. Two of my own pieces were accepted last year; This year three more will be featured.

Rev. Msgr. Hugh J. Phillips LibraryThis position saw me working with students, faculty, and staff to aid and assist in all library functions. From re-shelving books, operating our print quota system, keeping track of everyone in the library, and aiding in general technological areas such as computer operations, photocopying and other associated things, I was a staple of my college library's functions and continued success. The library is the social and educational hub of Mount St. Mary's University, and most students spend a lot of time there during the semester. I, along with the rest of the small but dedicated staff, ensured that all library operations ran smoothly so that the students could study and socialize without hindrance. In my last year, I was tasked, alongside a few others, with gradually taking inventory of every book in stock. This was done in an effort to ensure everything was accounted for and shelved correctly. Before that, I scanned our collection weekly to make sure all of the texts and related media were all displayed and in their correct places amidst the shelves.

The newspaper is printed bi-weekly and has been in print since 1879. This long-standing tradition is something I am proud to have been a part of. I also attended weekly meetings which were held to discuss the layout of the paper and which articles would be written.

Mount St. Mary's University Information Technology Support CenterThis job was the first work-study position that I held at Mount St. Mary's University. In this job, I better learned how to operate a multitude of technology and multimedia equipment all over campus. I was given the opportunity to learn more about technology and what makes it work. I was placed in an environment where I could showcase the many technological skills I already possessed, while also developing more alongside experienced professionals. I operated the front desk, where I regularly answered questions both over the phone and in person. I also worked with other technicians to repair a wide variety of technology that was often brought in to be fixed.

Working at Loginov and Associates, PLLC was my first real job. This patent law firm hired me to aid in a wide variety of maintenance tasks around the office. These tasks included, but were not limited to, shredding important legal documents, mowing the lawn, shoveling snow, trimming the hedges, assembling shelving, moving furniture, cleaning out the basement, and taking out the trash.
