In this role, I fulfill regular Front Desk Assistant duties such as maintaining building security, assisting residents and other individuals within the building, acting as a knowledgable resource of Residence Life and University policy, and managing building data digitally. As coordinator, I am given the extra responsibility of serving as a mentor to my 8-person staff, training new staff members, attending weekly 1:1 meetings with my building's Residential Fellow, attending monthly meetings with the other Residence Life Coordinators under the leadership of the Operations Coordinator for Residence Life, collecting availability for my staff, scheduling my staff, and assisting my staff in trouble-shooting building or resident-related emergencies.

I serve as the Vice President of Marketing for the Campus Activities Board. In this role, I oversee a committee of 8. I am in charge of coordinating marketing efforts for 55+ events within the academic year including but not limited to, overseeing the design process of digital marketing, managing multiple social media accounts, designing promotional materials, using state-issued funds to purchase promotional materials, and developing special projects for certain events. I work alongside a 10-person executive board in which I attend weekly executive board meetings, weekly 1:1 meetings with my advisor, weekly meetings with my committee, and monthly board-wide meetings.

This was an 8-week in-residence summer research program designed to fully immerse into the research process. During this program, I worked under Dr. Gina Fernandez researching Behavioral Neuroscience. We studied the long-term impact of concurrent nicotine and alcohol consumption during adolescence on reward-seeking behavior and anxiety-like behavior. I completed drug administration procedures as well as behavioral testing procedures. Additionally, this program offered professional development opportunities teaching students how to write grants, the importance of research, regulatory research bodies, and applying research post-grad.
