As the Assistant Graphics Manager, my role is to supervise the day to day operations of our 6-member team of Graphics and Prepress professionals. This includes: overseeing jobs traveling through the department, quality approvals of soft proofs that deliver to clients, file standards and process development, building hard proof files, managing physical printing of Epson proofs, team member training, and day to day problem solving. In this role, I am responsible for direct reports both in state and out of state, and I also have close contact with the Operations team (both in-state and out of state) and the Project Management team to ensure seamless handoffs from Graphics to Production. Additionally, this leadership role has put me in a position to contribute to Organizational Effectiveness meetings, where I have contributed significant ideas and observations to the company's vision.

As Production Graphic Designer at Hummingbird, my role is to manipulate customer 1-up art files, preparing them for digital print directly applied to corrugated packaging. My main responsibilities include prepping 1-up production art files by performing visual quality checks, setting trim box boundaries, adding print marks, and running comparisons to original client artwork. Additionally, I am responsible for creating and posting all customer print sample files (proofs) and performing quality checks on them before shipping them to customer. Similarly, I am also responsible for the creation of 1-up art files used for building physical customer mock-ups, another service offered by Hummingbird. Secondary roles include: serving as a backup for our Prepress team, planning and creating step and repeat production files that are posted directly to the press; and directly participating in the ideation and revisions of standard operating procedures for my role and our overall workflow processes.

In June 2016, I was named the Lead Prepress Production Artist, with responsibilities that include handling the toughest builds, making production art decisions, art order prioritization, art team training, continuous process improvement, and production art problem solving.In this position I have become the leader of a team of 4 production artists handling the artwork for all of Eurostampa North America’s customers. In addition to handling my production art duties, I am a driver of change and innovation, often being the first to develop and/or learn new processes and then train the rest of the team.This position requires but is not limited to: strong time management skills, the ability to teach and train effectively, superior information retention and application skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure - in addition to the standard responsibilities of a Production Artist.

As a member of the Eurostampa Prepress team, my main objective is to manipulate production art and prepare it for flexographic or lithographic presses. Included in this responsibility is the creation of a soft proof deliverable for the customer, which is a PDF document that includes a visual comp, color separations, and a technical specification sheet. Attention to detail and digital file management are critical in the position, and my penchant for finding commonly overlooked mistakes and details has saved quite a few jobs from leaving the building with inaccuracies. Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are also required and utilized on a daily basis. What I personally felt was already an advanced skill set in these programs has developed into near-expert level when using them in a production art setting, thanks to an everyday dedication to learning from other expert users. The position also requires a working knowledge of Esko based software, most notably including PackEdge. My advanced proficiency in both Mac and PC platforms has made our transition from a Mac-based work flow to a PC-based work flow smooth and efficient.

At MarketVision Research I was a part of the Graphics Team, and my main job duty was to work closely with the Client Services Department to create a high quality visual report deliverable to our clients. Other responsibilities included creating advertisements in the form of flyers, web banners, and other printed media for our research panels. I was also the key team member responsible for all video work that goes into our reports, which includes cutting, clipping, and creating 'video highlight reels' of our client research. I also managed the storage, organization, and archiving of all of the video data as it relates to reports. And finally, another job responsibility was photography and image editing, which could range from editing hundreds of client supplied images to actually photographing the product myself and editing the images to scale for use in our research studies, as well as any other graphic needs presented to the department.In this position I worked in Microsoft Powerpoint and Excel daily, and I am an advanced user in both programs. I also used Adobe Photoshop on a weekly basis, and when a job called for it I utilized Adobe Illustrator and InDesign as well, being an advanced user in all 3 areas. For my video work, I have become proficient in Adobe Premeire and various video encoding programs as well as gaining experience with the retrieval of video footage from streaming research websites and research discussion boards.

I worked in the Production Control department of General Data, doing pre-press work which includes making AutoCad drawings, creating artwork files for plates in Adobe Illustrator, and entering orders into the system for production. My primary job duty was the creation of files for the 10" flexographic press with an inkjet attachment. These files need special programming, which can include creating a database in Excel and then setting up the layout in the Kodak inkjet program; which the operators will load up in the plant. In addition to these things, I work closely with the sales department to ensure I create the most accurate and satisfying graphical design and layout for the customer.

I completed a third co-op with Cincinnati Printers, an offset printing house whose main business is print packaging. In the four months I worked there, I completed tasks such as assisting on the Heidelberg press, filing plates for pre-press, making plates, hand bindery, and even went on a couple sales calls. As a bonus, to finish up my co-op Cincinnati Printers generously gave a donation to our professional student group, VCTO, to help with costs of bringing students to attend Print ‘09 in Chicago.

· BGSU Center for Applied Technology (CAT) Large-Format Print Lab; operated large-format ink jet printers and helped customers while attending spring semester classes

I completed a Bachelor's of Science in Technology for majoring in Visual Communication Technology, or VCT. Through my 4 year career at BGSU, I maintained a 3.3 overall GPA and a 3.7 major GPA.

I completed 2 co-ops at SFC, being trained to operate their high-definition digital flatbed printers. I worked the second shift, mainly keeping production running for Owens Corning, CertainTeed, Wayne Dalton Doors, and Therma Tru Windows & Doors.
