Serves as adjunct faculty teaching Wargame Design and Practice (MSFS6588) during Fall TermThe course leads students from the history, philosophy, and basics of modern wargame design to a prototype of an educational wargame over a semester-long project. During the course capstone, students have the opportunity to socialize and demo their games for DOD and USG staff.Besides teaching MSFS6588, Prof. Olson consults with MSFS faculty to enhance their incorporation of wargaming into their coursework and guest lectures as part of the STIA concentration gateway curriculum.

Supported over 20 wargames from 2022-2024Lead for Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response (CHMR) wargaming, supporting implementation of DOD INSTRUCTION 3000.17 and the CHMR-APExploring AI technologies for the wargaming team as AI Wargaming Implementation Lead, including a project refining the use of LLM agents in wargmes

Co-designed for Competition: AI, a wargame exploring U.S. and Chinese near future competition over military applications of AI, and facilitated for CSET, DoD and Georgetown staff. Presented the model to The House Select Committee on China in Fall 2023, 80+ technologists at the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics Defense Forum in 2022, the Defense Acquisition University, and JHAPL. The game has also been incoperated in Georgetown MSFS Coursework.

Design educational simulations on emerging technology (e.g., space infrastructure race, Covid vaccine diplomacy) through expert interviews and facilitated the week-long simulations for senior seminars, and compiled into databaseResearch and create curriculum on ethics and technology courses alongside Program Director, including revising syllabi for new technology policy gateway course, creating reading lists, and exam questions

Managed team of eight editorial assistants to solicit, edit, and publish academic articles on the intersection of Science, Technology, and International Affairs. Produced 8 articles between yearly peer-reviewed print publication and continuous online formats.

Working with office leadership, created Matrix exercise for STC office on emerging technologies and PRC competition, evaluated status of internal USG tools to support Research Integrity, and produced report on state of Quantum field and US collaborations.

Co-led CFELS Oxytocin research alongside renowned scholar Dr. Jeff Schloss investigating Oxytocin receptor polymorphisms. Provided research support for center's publications on topics of science, ethics, and faith. Work culminated in poster presentation at Oxford in October 2019

Produced and co-hosted monthly comedy podcast focused on transitions between High School, College and Adult life.

As the only freshmen on the team durning his first year, and a sole researcher durning the Fall of 2015, Andrew was privileged to work with autonomy in the lab and publish along side veteran Professor Allan Nishimura and his research group. Durning 2016, Andrew worked one one with Prof. Nishimura to design the years experiments, including selection and procurement of research compounds Under Prof. Nishimura, Andrew learned data organization and the basics of publishing. Andrew analyzed experimental data individually and collaboratively with Prof. Nishimura and three other students. Experiments in Spring 2015 investigated the effect differing lengths of 1-chloroalkanes have of the desorption energies of the Naphthalene. Research in Fall 2015 continued the investigation with branching simple-alkanes.

As the only undergraduate member of the staff, Andrew:-Acted as first point of contact through client intake-Developed a knowledge base about current Community and Mental Health issues-Participated in meeting to coordinate health service delivery-Assisted Attorneys in representing clients in housing, benefits, and mental health cases

-Conduct research into immunization coverage and disease burden improve adult vaccination practices and department vaccine purchasing strategies -compile and analyze Human Papillomavirus immunization data, using the microcosm of local health departments to inform better HPV vaccination practices-Investigate vaccination requirements at undergraduate institutions
