Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO)(E-5):Staff Sergeants are primarily highly skilled technicians with supervisory and training responsibilities. They are responsible for their subordinates’ development and the effective accomplishment of all assigned tasks. They must ensure proper and effective use of all resources under their control to ensure the mission is effectively and efficiently accomplished. Staff Sergeants operate at the tactical expertise level of leadership.Secret Clearance Status:Eligible for access to information that reasonably could be expected to cause serious damage to the national security if disclosed to unauthorized sources.7-Level Certification:Identifies managerial and supervisory positions requiring broad knowledge of the tasks performed at all subordinate levels in a given MOS and related MOS' s in order to coordinate and give direction to work activities.(1) Performed inspection and signature clearance of red-x conditional completed tasks that prevent aircraft from flight.(2) Supervised group work tasks on tactical aircraft.Tactical Aircraft Maintenance:(1) Performed inspections and emergency maintenance on running aircraft through structured communication with pilots during launch and recover procedures.(2) Conducted pre-flight, thru-flight, post-flight, end-of-runway, routine, and phase inspections of aircraft structures and their components according to maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications. (3) Maintained, repaired, rebuilt, and tested aircraft structures and their components using precision tools and proper protective equipment according to technical orders and specifications.Training Certifications:(1) Completed extensive lists of recurring training modules and classes including CPR certification, self-aid buddy care, hazmat, active shooter, suicide prevention, behavioral awareness in culture and religion, job and warfare, management, operational security, cyber security, and more.
