I believe the future of the energy grid is an integrated, 'living' network of hundreds of millions of nodes (batteries) and coast to coast, border to border electricity grid managed and updated in real-time. School buses, cars, buildings and massive solar and wind farms will all either produce energy, store energy or both. I don't see this as an idea but as an inevitable conclusion.
