With over 19 years of experience the environment, sustainability and renewables have been the golden threat throughout my career. Currently serving on the leadership team at Forestry England and managing a team of 13, I am responsible for overseeing investment in the nation's 1,500 woods and forests, ensuring that these vital natural assets are managed with sustainability and resilience in mind.My journey began with rigorous training as an environmental policy specialist, developing with extensive project management expertise. I have had the privilege of advising diverse clients on embedding sustainability into their core operations, helping them to build greener, more resilient businesses. My research contributions, particularly under the UK Climate Impacts Programme, have provided a foundation for actionable insights in the field of climate adaptation.Throughout my career, I have played a pivotal role in shaping and implementing UK renewable energy policies. From launching the world’s first Renewable Heat Incentive to authoring the inaugural Feed-in Tariff report for the Secretary of State, I have consistently driven forward initiatives that push the boundaries of what is possible in renewable energy. My work at Ofgem where I developed their energy market strategy, regulatory enforcement strategies and contributed to key programs such as the Energy Company Obligation, underscores my commitment to regulatory excellence and continuous improvement.Prior to my time at Forestry England and Ofgem, I worked as a consultant at Sweett Group, and authored research at the think-tank the Policy Studies Institute. These experiences have endowed me with a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between policy, strategy, and practical implementation in the sustainability domain.In addition to my environmental and policy work, I am also a certified Lego Serious Play facilitator.
