As part of the Wireless LAN Engineering team, my accomplishments included:- Lead a team of five wireless engineers to deliver services across 1750+ stores, 37 distribution centers, and 54 headquarters facilities.- Consulted on an ongoing basis with business teams to shape the vision for market leading mobile and digital experiences for our guests across multiple channels and translate business requirements into technology service frameworks.- Evaluated competitive vendor sourcing for the next Stores wireless lifecycle refresh, identifying an opportunity to save $22M, representing a 50% cost reduction.- Architect of a stores network virtualization strategy that securely enabled flexible technology services to accommodate emerging vendor, guest, and internal business requirements, including guest Wi-Fi, location tracking, mobile device support, feature-rich kiosks, and connected electronics.- Lead a design team which implemented a secure hotspot solution enabling team member use of personal devices in corporate facilities while maintaining integrity of confidential data.- Managed multiple strategic vendor relationships to drive technology innovation, establish product roadmaps, and ensure service delivery to exceed established business objectives.- Designed an all-wireless office which identified $1.9M NPV in infrastructure savings for a single headquarters building over 5 years.- Collaborated with the Store Operations team to deploy a secure mobile point-of-sale environment including wireless IPS to enhance guest satisfaction and increase business flexibility.

As part of the Wireless LAN Engineering team, my accomplishments included:- Managed the 2008, 2009, and 2010 wireless infrastructure PCI assessments, achieving 100% compliance, and reduced Report on Compliance (RoC) items by 90% during that time period.- Designed new distribution center wireless networks at 5 facilities and verified operational effectiveness prior to go-live, ensuring successful facility openings and distribution operations.- Enabled business process automation at food distribution centers by optimizing wireless network operation in perishable freezers and coolers.- Architect of a secure wireless vendor access solution including centralized policy enforcement and identity based networking, ensuring protection of Target information assets.- Drafted and evaluated responses to the wireless best of breed RFP to identify opportunities for competitive vendor sourcing, and installed production networks using 3 vendors, preparing Target to reduce future lifecycle costs by an estimated $20 million dollars.- Implemented a wireless DC campus solution at two co-located facilities which provides outdoor yard resource sharing, resulting in $18k in capital expense reduction and $56k in annual operational expense reduction.- Completed an internal engineering communication training program to re-enforce communication skills in large groups, small groups, and through written media.

During my tenure as Network Engineer my accomplishments included:- Primary engineer of the Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Networks (LANs) for over 93 facilities across the Omaha metropolitan area, serving over 8,000 staff and 46,000 students.- Operated and maintained WAN aggregation of Metro Ethernet, ATM, OC-12, DS3, and T1 circuits utilizing EIGRP dynamic routing with load balancing and failover operation.- Designed, implemented, and administered the District-wide wireless network utilizing industry-best security standards including 802.11i, AES encryption, 802.1x, EAP, and RADIUS.- Administered all network equipment including Cisco 7200, 2600 and 3600 Series routers, PIX firewalls, Catalyst 6500, 3750, 3560 and 2960 switches, and Aironet wireless infrastructure.- Implemented application layer Quality of Service (QoS), WAN optimization and acceleration technologies utilizing Packeteer PacketShaper appliances.- Implemented and administered F5 BigIP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) appliances to load balance traffic to critical business systems and ensure application delivery.- Drafted and evaluated responses to the 2005 Telecommunications Bid for voice and data services over a 4-year Service Level Agreement (SLA) contract worth over $3.5 million.- Administered server and data center technologies, including Windows NT/2000/2003, Debian Linux, Active Directory, DNS, NTP, DHCP, power distribution, rack design, and cable pathways.
