Innovative modern or traditional designs can be created to a client’s own brief and specification to produce rugs and carpets of exceptional quality.All the rugs and carpets are made in Area Rugs' studio workshop in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, UK. This ensures that our exceptional quality is not compromised throughout the production of each unique commission.As well as special finishes, the sumptuous pile can be sculpted to provide a three dimensional quality to enhance a design or simply carved into a plain carpet to achieve an embossed effect.Andrew has been designing and making unique and exclusive hand-tufted rugs and carpets since graduating in 1988 with a first class honours degree in carpet design. Now based in a textile mill in Mirfield, located in the traditional “Heavy Woollen” district of West Yorkshire, Andrew has established Area Rugs and Carpets as one of the leading hand tufting companies in the UK.

Based in Mirfield, the West Yorkshire Print Workshop is an open access printmaking facility.We also run a regular programme of specialist printmaking courses and other related activities including arts and crafts activities and workshops for young people. We support artists and creative businesses by providing printmaking facilities, affordable studio spaces and exhibiting opportunities for members.WYPW is a registered charity (no. 1010125) and a Regularly Funded Organisation of the Arts Council, England. We welcome any offers of voluntary assistance and sponsorship from the private and business sectors.

Local artists in and around Huddersfield and Kirklees will be opening the doors of their studios and showcasing their work at different venues during the HOST Artists Open Studio Trail in September.
