I managed and maintained all video & audio post-production facilities, production studios, and equipment. I provide the knowledge base and post production workflows for all equipment, which includes SD, HD, & 4K acquisition, video editing & dubbing. I manage the troubleshooting and maintenance on ProTools suites for 7.1/5.1/2ch mixing and mastering, ADR vocal booths, and audio dubbing & capture. A large part of the role is researching, testing, and designing workflows for new technologies and equipment. For example, creating proposals for 4K/4.6K Cinema Cameras, Camcorders, and DSLRs, providing documentation for production and post, as well as providing technical support in adding colorgrading and correction to the department's facilities and curriculum. I successfully oversaw the inclusion of RAW & HDR Video to our workflows and am looking forward to campaigning for more VR/Stereoscopic/Spherical video, 8K aquisition, and introducing new colorspaces such as REC.2020 & the ACES workflow.I provide hands-on training and written documentation on workflow for: DCI4K/UHD acquisition, Digital Media Management, Digital NLE Video Editing, Color Correction and Grading, Conforming for Delivery: DCP, DVD/BD Disc Authoring, digital distribution, and Post-Production Sound using ProTools & ProTools HD. I supported the graduate and undergraduate Art, Media & Technology(AMT) students and faculty with various software and hardware needs, providing guidance and consultation with design workflows, best practices, and software instruction. I also provided one-to-one guidance, tutoring, training, and resources available to struggling students. I was responsible for, maintained, troubleshoots, and provided guidance for all in-lab equipment including computers, design software, video and still camera equipment, projectors, high definition and touchscreen displays, audio equipment, and printers.The lab also provided the department with various equipment for mid-year and thesis gallery shows and are responsible for its maintenance, inspection, and installation when needed. To support this, I developed an equipment checkout system in Filemaker to streamline, standardize and to allow auditing of the checkout process. As the lead full-time technician in the lab, I managed a number of part-time and work-study staff. I provided training opportunities, assessed and delegated work best suited for them by their skills, and did best to provide a healthy work-educational balance.
