André Coelho completed his degree in Marketing and Business Communication at IADE, and a master's degree in Anthropology and Visual Culture at FCSH-Lisbon. In 2022 he was admitted to the PhD in Politics and Images of Culture and Museology and became a contributing member of CRIA – Center for Research Network in Anthropology and ALMA-KV/CV. In 2023 he was scholarship holder for the JUSTA project - Justice, equality and rights of migrant women: narratives and artistic practices for inclusion, and Member of the local organization committee of the COST Action annual meeting "Women on the Move" in Lisbon. In 2024 he published his first article entitled “Dá Ku torno!: batuku and identity territoires in the Cape Verdean Diáspora” for Revista Música from USP, and made a communication entitled "Kriolu in the expressive practices of post-colonial generations" at the XV Luso-Afro-Brazilian Congress of Social Sciences (CONLAB) in Praia, Cabo Verde. He was a speaker at the seminar "Viva a Música", at the invitation of the UFMG Faculty of Music, to share his research in the field of acoustic ecology and a speaker on the topic "Soundscape and Soundwalking - listening practices in the contemporary world", at the invitation of Tourism course at UFMG, in Brazil. He was also a collaborator at the international symposium "Invisible Places and Sounding Cities" in Portugal.He holds an audiovisual post-production course from RESTART and a technical course in Fundamentals of Acoustics from IAV. As a musician and producer, he founded the projects Sontato, Imidiwan, XAFU, Rickshaw, Ha Kwai, Nzungu, Fidju Kitxora and Radio Tamashek collective.
