During my time at Cyrillica I was responsible for video game-related localization projects, which included both projects on translation as well as LQA. Regarding translations, my duties were the following: - communication with customers, providing the customers with the required information on the order and deadlines; - creation of tasks for translators and editors/proofreaders (sometimes for up to 15 languages at once), providing them with the texts and all the needed information (on style, symbol limits, consistency etc.) and reference documents; - compiling glossaries and style guides for projects, if there are none; - consulting translators/editors during a task about project-related issues; - translation of lines to Russian or English, if necessary; - making reports on projects and budget documentations; - after the texts are gathered from translation/editing, execution of multi-step checking to make sure that the texts are of the best possible quality, correspond to the requirements, and that no language mistakes are present; - delivery of the final texts to the customer. Regarding LQA processes, I operated on the following: - communication with developers on the project, setting deadlines and budget totals; - after receiving the build and instructions, playing it first to get acquainted with the game and its features, and making sure that the instruction on walkthrough is passable; - compiling glossaries and reference documents for testers, making sure they have no issues during the testing; - delivery of game's build to the team of testers, consulting them on related matters; - providing LQA service myself for Russian language on a number of projects; - reporting graphical and language-related bugs to JIRA; - operation on both cosmetic and regression testings.
