Some of the examples in which Andries supported our Project included: general industry best practice advice; advice for the required infrastructure and facilities including inputs into the design of the new accommodation; specialist fire safety advice for our new facilities; general welfare compliance advice; guidance on wellbeing and steering the Leadership Team towards implementation of a Government sponsored “Better Connections Programme” which offered workers with on-site access to computers with free internet, communication applications such as whatsapp, facebook, viber in order to provide means of affordable communication with their families and this also included a support network which aimed to improve workers computer skills which greatly improved the quality of life and overall worker satisfaction. Andries carried out most of his support efforts during his personal time away from a very demanding Project so I have no reservations that Andries’s efforts vastly extended beyond his contractual duties. On a personal level, he is a charismatic and attentive practitioner highly committed to the wellbeing of his workforce, both are qualities that have served him well in establishing trustful relations with multi-cultural migrant working groups comprising our workforce – the end result was one of the only privately owned compliant workers welfare accommodations in Qatar"
