During my studies at The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Applied Studies, I have integrated myself into the student organization and have tried to help every student I come across with new information and tasks. Besides mentoring new students, I also consulted the teams on how to realize projects and what is essential to focus on when planning new events.

My first ever working experience! Even though at the time I had just finished my first year at VISER, these lovely people responded to my initiative and provided me with 2 months of apprenticeship in the field I was most interested in. I didn't have to wait until I finished college in order to get hands-on experience, even though that's the custom here, all it took was to knock on the door and the door opened.Here I gained a lot of practical knowledge about (mostly) MikroTik routing and switching, along with experience in setting up networks, from managing cables and tidying them to crimping and terminating connectors. Even though it's my first time mounting racks and making them all pretty, I think I did a decent job at it. I also learned how to splice fiber-optic cables and connect them to the switch, which seems like something that will definitely come in handy once those types of cables replace plain copper ones that are mostly used. Mounting UniFi's and configuring them up from the controller was surreal, since I had always been fascinated by how one's able to connect to internet through just air. Apart from realizing hardware solutions, I had the chance to research and assemble VPN tunnels, including PPTP and OpenVPN and even explore AWS and it's seemingly limitless capabilities. It was all very exciting and I am so grateful for the opportunity. Furthermore, I also learned about automating technologies such as HostBill, something that is recognized as a large time-saver in the industry.Now that the 2nd school year is just around the corner, I plan to be patient and to revise everything I had learned there, so that next year I'll be able to upgrade my knowledge in a similar fashion!
