IMO AB is a subsidiary of American Colfax Corporation and is the world leader in pumps for oil handling in the marine market. IMO AB has about 120 employees and a turnover of about SEK 400 million.•Member of the IMO management team.•Managing the engineering teem.•Leading product development projects (normally pumps) from idea to market released products.•Meeting the customer in order to get a deep understanding of their needs, in order to develop appropriate products.•Building the laboratory for each specific project, running the tests, evaluating the results and creating performance equations.•Teaching pump and pump system technology. The audience normally found me to be both inspiring and pedagogical.•Leading a project of building a special “cnc cutter sharpening machine”, where I was the concept architect and wrote the tool calculating program.•Rotor profile development. As an example I designed a special rotor profile which gave much higher flow relative the physical size (15% higher flow). Consequently we could meet a very important custom requirement.•Supporting the production department with rotor production technology.
