▪ Development and integration of transformer-based models for invoice processing automation with OCR.▪ Integration with RPA systems for self-learning and automatic model updates.

At LIP I had the great opportunity to work with the very interesting topic of particle physics. My contribution was integrated within the SHiP experiment at CERN and consisted of the development of machine-learning models to identify theorized Hidden Sector particles below the Intensity Frontier. My work was predominantly on Heavy Neutral Leptons, Dark Photons, and Neutralinos. Due to the very feeble interactions of these particles, events are extremely rare and require greater collision intensities which generate enormous amounts of data that require robust models to classify these events and produce a new particle discovery. The developed work culminated in a written paper and presentation on the subject.

At Synbitec I offered my knowledge on control systems engineering and my great interest in biotechnology to help the design of control frameworks for synthetic biology applications intended to participate in the iGem international competition.

Managed a small team of 5 people with the mission of assessing student-related issues nationwide and building proposals to present and discuss within the academic federation (FAL) and then within the national meetings (ENDA), successfully bringing motions to ENDA Coimbra (December 2019). Our team also worked closely with other branches at AEIST regarding the representation of students especially during the COVID-19 pandemic period, lobbying diverse bodies in and outside national academic institutions.

• At my first position at AEIST, I was introduced to both local and nationwide Education Politics problems in the realm of the country’s higher education institutions. This made me even more conscious of the situations endured by our youth in the context of academia, housing conditions, social inclusion, and many others, but also made me aware of the institutional mechanisms in place to address those problems and to get in touch with the people that proactively work as a collective to represent thousands of students across the nation. I decided to try and be one of those people.• Within IST, my colleagues and I focused on supporting the student community through representation before the different bodies of the university and directly through counseling and building both physical and digital infrastructures aiming to get in touch with the community, their needs and opinions in matters such as academic issues, mental health, logistics, and many others.• Externally, by being an active associate of the Federação Académica de Lisboa (FAL), our work consisted mainly of representing AEIST in the Academic Federation and contributing by building and writing several motions to be discussed, polished, and frequently presented in the national meetings (ENDA) where mainly all the different associations and federations gathered to present and debate many issues related to nationwide academia and overall student well-being. During this time I was fortunate to participate in both ENDA Viseu (September 2019) and ENDA Coimbra (December 2019).

• I established communication with several companies and different institutions in order to build partnerships to fund and orchestrate the JEEC20 event.• Business meetings provided not only great contacts across different companies but also made possible the development of communication skills and insight on various tech markets and industries.
