My name is André Maritz, and I am a farmer currently working as a dairy manager for Just Milk, a dairy management company based in South Africa, where I have been employed for almost 5 years.Since my employment at Just Milk in February 2017, up until now, I believe to have grown a lot, both on a personal and professional level. I faced numerous high-pressure situations in which I have learned to work harder and remain effective amidst the stressors of my work. I have gained a lot of experience in the agricultural field specific to dairy management, including but not limited to pasture management, artificial insemination, irrigation management, managing silage-making and cover-cropping, staff management and overall managing of the dairies. The farms I have worked on have consisted of around 2000 cows. Although my experience is primarily related to the dairy industry, I am open to different fields of agriculture. I am known to be a fast learner and therefore have no doubt that I will be able to succeed should I have the opportunity to work in different types of farming. I believe I could be a great asset to any farming industry as I strive to always provide 100% of my effort to ensure the best possible results for the farm.
