Financial Controller
CurrentSwimming WA Incorporated is a dynamic and leading organization in the field of swimming. The organization manages all the swim-related activities for the entirety of the Western Australian state covering departments for coaching and regional development, coaching capability and growth, memberships, open water swimming, club and state-level pool meets, high performance athletes and squad-level & developmental swimming programs.As the Financial Controller for Swimming WA Incorporated, I oversee the financial management, accounting, and taxation functions for the organization with the main responsibilities being as follows:Management Accounting - Preparing and analysing monthly management accounts for each department and providing financial insights, cashflow forecasts and recommendations to support leadership decision-making. Financial Reporting - Preparing accurate and timely monthly financial reports and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements are adhered to. Reconciliation and Debtors & Creditors Management - Overseeing all reconciliation processes for the various bank accounts, profit & loss, and balance sheet items along with managing trade debtors and creditors to ensure optimal cashflow through effective credit and debt control.Revenue Management - Managing unearned revenue covering club affiliation fees, membership fee apportionment, sponsorships, and grants. Closely working with the various departments (including local government) to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of funding sources.Tax Compliance – Ensure compliance with all relevant taxation laws and regulations including GST, PAYG Withholding as well as managing all matters and correspondences with the Australian Taxation Office.Payroll & Superannuation – Managing the payroll processes to ensure accuracy with relevant regulations as well as administering the relevant leave entitlements and superannuation payments.
