Born in Venezuela in 1988, Andrés started playing drums at the age of 13 taking lessons under the Yamaha Music Academy. In addition, the following years he also learned to play the keyboard, bass guitar and the “cuatro” (Venezuelan string instrument). During his high school years he took formal piano lessons and was a part of the school choir.In 2009, he started his college degree as a Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music with Concentration in Music Technology at Florida Atlantic University, in Boca Raton, FL. During his time in the program, he performed in a variety of ensembles and styles including the Commercial Music Ensemble, Jazz Combos, the Brazilian Percussion Ensemble and the Symphony Orchestra. He was also often invited to do live and studio session work including performing on the opening theme song to the short film Roshambo Apocalypse. In addition to his performing experience, he was part of FAU’s Hoot/Wisdom Recordings record label becoming one of their main audio engineers. Aside from working on his own projects and recordings, Andrés was also involved in other school and label related projects.After obtaining his music degree, Andrés continued performing and doing live sound with various groups. Currently, he is a Drum Instructor at the School Of Rock in Coral Springs and the full time Willow Theatre Sound Coordinator at Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton, Florida.
