The final-year research project within the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) program at the Centre for Open & Distance Learning University of Moratuwa is designed to offer university students comprehensive training in executing research projects.It achieves this by guiding them through various project stages, which encompass problem analysis, the design of modular solutions, and the utilization of diverse technologies. Furthermore, students gain crucial project-related skills, including project formulation, proposal writing, interim report creation, final dissertation composition, and presentation delivery.These projects are individual student endeavors, and I have had the privilege of contributing to the supervision of approximately 20 students over the past few years.

Computer Society of Sri Lanka Accreditation Board (CSSLAB) was formed by the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) in 2018, the country’s oldest Computing professional organization. The Seoul Accord is an international accreditation agreement for professional computing academic degrees between the bodies responsible for accreditation in its signatory countries. CSSL is the sole qualified entity to represent Sri Lanka for membership in the Seoul Accord. CSSLAB is a provisional member of the Seoul Accord since 2018.CSSLAB manages the independent computing degree accreditation body for the Sri Lankan IT industry, accepting and endorsing computing degree programs that provide professional pathways in computing and endorse international certification portability.

FOSSASIA develops Open Source software and hardware solutions with a global developer community from its base in Asia and organizes Open Technology events around the year. The mission of FOSSASIA is to improve people's lives by sharing open technologies, knowledge and resources and building a sustainable FOSS ecosystem.Google Code-in was a contest that introduced pre-university students to open source software development.FOSSASIA joined Google Code-In as a mentoring organization and I was a mentor of the program.
