Running a joint venture between NatWest and Vodeno/Warburg Pincus to build the UK's leading Banking-as-a-Service business

Fundamentally, I have instilled the Board with confidence in its approach to digital assets (including CBDCs, Stablecoins, Cryptocurrencies and the broader tokenisation of assets). I achieved clear insight the market and regulatory landscape and coalesced a bankwide views on priorities and subsequent initiatives.

The UK’s first standalone digital business bank launched by a mainstream bank. I established the vision, built the POC and appointed the original CEO. I also oversaw the development of 200+ staff, achieved an exceptional 4.8 rating in the Google and Amazon Play Stores and onboarded 50,000 customers across stores. Key achievements have included: • Increasing customer growth momentum and aligning leadership while ensuring seamless business transition after the departure of a high-profile leader. I built relationships, listened to the team and ensured continuity focus in communication • Transforming business performance, growing customer numbers to record levels and boosting team morale by refocusing the business. I identified and amplified the key agenda including delivering the banking platform, optimising time management, reorganising the delivery team and establishing a growth team

In this role, I drove revolutionary initiatives that transformed customer interaction, generated revenue streams and established successful business propositions by leading the strategy and vision to identify and respond effectively to fintech threats. I appointed and managed the CEOs, led decisions on ongoing investments and stood up teams to design and cultivate solutions with customers. Portfolio included: o Tyl – State-of-the-art merchant acquiring a business o Payit – Market-leading open banking payment proposition. Live in over 20 large corporates o NatWest Mentor Digital – Advisory service providing support for key issues faced by customers• Delivering inventive deal structures and bringing together a best of breed capability by collaborating with key partners including:o Pollinate – I led a strategic partnership in which NatWest took a 30% stake in an international payments company in return for Tyl payments IP. Technology now valued at $200M has since been rolled out to two other large banks o Xero – I embedded a working capital solution (Rapid Cash) into a customer journey of a global market leader accountancy software system by working with fintech, an integration that led to the acquisition of Waddle (by Xero)• Creating a systematic and consistent approach to innovation from seed to scale by ensuring clear and robust funding allocation with a portfolio view based on the VC-style model. Key achievements included:o Being at the forefront of cloud-based initiatives in banking. With approval from the NatWest board to develop cloud-native solutions which I enabled by bringing in external leadership talent and growing a team of >500 to run digital businesses o Developing a digital apprenticeship scheme bringing together Leadership Through Sports and Business charity with large businesses to provide tech jobs and training for young people leading to the creation of 240 apprentices in 2021

Head of Strategy, Commercial, Institutional and Private Banking I led strategy teams with hands-on business leadership responsibilities including ExCo, AlCo and RiskCo membership and was a regular presenter to external stakeholders including investors, ratings agencies and analysts. My initial strategy role blended innovation together with ventures, but over time it became strategy and innovation into ventures. Key achievements included: • Transforming the commercial business (including clients with £2M – £1BN turnover) by optimising a banker-led strategy with a focus on digitisation and business growth. Successes included lending >8% CAGR, increasing customer satisfaction market position from # 4 to #1 in the UK market and significantly improving key processes including lending and onboarding • Achieving success in an interim leadership role within Coutts UK during a period of organisational uncertainty. I relaunched wealth management by building a digital proposition resulting in >20% AUM growth in 2017, streamlining a product suite to focus on internal products and reducing investment team headcount by 50%
