Responsible overseeing the day-to-day operations of the CPA firm; managing the firm’s profitability; ensuring implementation of the strategic plan; managing the firm’s risk by insuring that proper insurance coverage was adequate for all areas of the practice; managing the firm’s IT department; and lead all due diligence efforts for potential mergers and acquisitions.

Responsible for all financial responsibilities of division with annual sales in excess of $2.0 billion and over 85 stores. Provide financial insight/guidance to senior leadership on special projects as needed. Responsible for all capital analysis to include determination of new project ROI, lease vs. buy options, potential store closings and review of new store formats.

Responsible for month end close, which included monthly journal entry preparation and the posting and compiling of financial statements, reviewing of account balances for reasonableness, and the reporting of results to the parent company—a company with annual revenues in excess of $184 million. Developed divisional and consolidated annual budgets, prepared annual and quarterly SEC required reporting, and provided monthly forecasting of revenue and expense items. Designed a new reporting hierarchy to improve the general ledger reporting efficiency.

Responsible for all financial activities of a mail order, two-way radio company with annual revenues in excess of $29 million. Implemented an integrated general ledger system and a cash management reporting system for income projections and cash forecasting. Hired and evaluated a six-person department. Coordinated the annual audit by KPMG Peat Marwick, and the quarterly audits by the bank.
