• A large sports and entertainment venue providing live Greyhound racing. With Corporate hospitality suites, 400 cover restaurant, tiered indoor grandstand accommodating further 1000+, 8 bars, fast-food servery and cafeteria• Three race meetings every week throughout the year, attracting over 200,000 visitors per annum• As Marketing Manager it is my ultimate responsibility to ensure the Stadium maximises its full potential, both in terms of diners/footfall and sponsorship/advertising revenue• I act as Duty Manager on at least one of the three weekly race meetings, on a rota basis with the two Directors, with overall responsibility for the evening event• I am directly responsible for approximately 18 part-time bar staff and also 3 full-time reservations staff and, indirectly, through section managers, for some 200 more• Attendance had been increased from around 1000 visitors/week to the current average of almost 4000, by implementation of timely and novel promotions and offers. Peterborough Greyhound Stadium is now accepted as one of the top three in the UK in terms of attendance, facilities and tote turnover• I have been fully involved in the specification, development and day-to-day administration of a bespoke reservations system, which includes an online facility. All bookings are pre-paid resulting in annual credit/debit card income of over £1.25 million• The website is constantly evolving, my direct input has resulted in various innovative concepts and promotions, we see over 1000 redemptions per week from our own online offer vouchers• I have been heavily involved in the Industry’s Marketing Committee, individually and jointly responsible for many of their most effective national campaigns
