As a Finance Business Partner at Aquila Energy, I am dedicated to realizing our vision of ensuring every community is powered by renewable energy. I am recognized in each area for my strengths. I am working in renewable energy during times of big changes, and rapid growth. I spent initial 4 + years as a Controller, and then recently been recognized for reducing costs and mitigating risk in a rising star – combined with strong collaboration through to Boardroom level for project variance reporting and analysis.I managed the financial closing of large organizations and completed the monthly closing within 3 to 5 business day. I seek out best practices and work with the business to simplify processes. I have a background in development construction project accounting using KPIs to find cost savings. I have knowledge for both GAAP and IFRS accounting and have worked extensively on audits.My work within FP&A in a project and contract-based setting has built a stronger grasp of how to help each business unit run their unit operations better. The position requires a lot of flexibility by working with multiple business units and compilation of large amounts of data. It allows me to continue to make key decisions and really improve the overall effectiveness and profitability of the company.I am a solutions driven collaborator who brings in a deep Accounting background to not only ensure accounting standards are met, but also that new standards are adopted. I have learned how to partner well to gain respect in implementing new processes. I build strong relationships with coworkers that results in both trust and collaboration. I have experience with ensuring controls in a climate of change and relentless audits. I also have experience with long-term modeling that helps to have a view beyond the current budgeted periods.
